Jeff HainesMr. Jeff Haines, Principal

Mr. Haines was born in Rockport, Indiana. He attended Western Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing Education with a Business Administration minor. He taught at Springfield High School from 2006-2012; his schedule included Accounting, Personal Finance, and Banking and Finance. At Springfield, he was the assistant coach for boys' basketball for four years and the assistant coach for baseball for two years. Mr. Haines then received his Master's degree from Austin Peay in Educational Leadership in 2011. He was the assistant principal at SHS from 2012-2016, where he also served as Co-Athletic Director.  In the 2016-2017 school year, Mr. Haines transferred to Jo Byrns High School as the principal. In his free time, Mr. Haines enjoys golfing, attending St. Louis Cardinals games, and spending time with his family. 





chesley goostreeMs. Chesley Goostree, Assistant Principal

Ms. Goostree grew up in Robertson County where she attended school in the Springfield cluster. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1997 then began her postsecondary education at Tennessee Technological University. She graduated from TTU in December of 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies – Several Subjects 1-8 with a concentration in Middle Grades Education. Ms. Goostree began her teaching career at Jo Byrns High School in January of 2001teaching 6th grade math. A few years later she found her passion when she began teaching 8th grade reading. In 2007 Ms. Goostree made the decision to return to school to earn her master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2009 with this degree. Ms. Goostree taught in the middle school at JBHS for 12 years before moving up to the high school to teach English. After teaching high school for 3 years, she moved into the position of assistant principal in the fall of 2015. In her free time, Ms. Goostree enjoys traveling, watching scary movies, shopping for bargains, and spending time with friends and family.




james kiggansMr. James Kiggans, Assistant Principal


Mr. Kiggans was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and moved to Robertson County in 2000.  He began his postsecondary education at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, but he finished his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with a focus in History at Middle Tennessee State University. Ten years later, Mr. Kiggans went back to school and got his Masters in Administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin.  His first career school was Springfield High School where he taught U.S. History, World History, Contemporary Issues, Tennessee History, and Civil War History.  After a decade as a teacher in the building, he spent two years as an administrator there.  In the 2016-2017 school year, Mr. Kiggans transferred to Jo Byrns High School as the assistant principal.
