J. Mark Lowe, Kentucky-Tennessee Research Associates genealogist, and a Jo Byrns High School alumnus, gave a presentation on ancestry research to Ms. Owens' Tennessee History Class on Thursday, February 16.

Mr. Lowe explained the process of searching for one's ancestors and gave the students clues on how to find relevant information about their ancestors. He also presented four students in the class with their family trees going back multiple generations. Those students were surprised by Mr. Lowe's findings. One of the students is a relation of the great American comedian, Will Rogers; two were related to the Bell family in Adams; and two were related to the first families in Robertson County.

Students in the Tennessee History class will use the information presented by Lowe and the free subscription for all Robertson County students on ancestryclassroom.com to compile their own family histories and present their findings to the class at a later time.
